Hello Ems,
breathe and relax - this is not as bad as it seems, you are not alone - we are all here to give you our support!
Tell you doctor that you are concerned about orthostatic tremor and perhaps he or a neurologist can find out if this is indeed what you have. If so - you have now found the right place to be - there are lot's of friends here.
I got my diagnosis 2009 (you can read my story below; the Golfnut story). Since then I've become worse, but also better.I use a stool in the shower and I need assistance at airports, but that is all "external" help I need today. I have adapted my life; I walk around brushing my teeth, I sit down to do the ironing, walk about to shake washing before hanging it up (quickly) and I lean on whatever is in front of me to cook, put on make-up, do dishes aso. Basically I do not stand still very much without leaning on something - and then I can do most everyday things.
It was hard in the beginning, but our minds&bodies are quite remarkable and adaptable! Now I manage fine, feel good and stable - despite tremors. I do understand to 100% your frustration and stress at this point and I hope you can find strenght and encouragement in my story; I manage, I even golf again!
OT is not easy to live with no - but we can and we do! So hang in there and let us know what happens. Also, you have OT'ers nearby in NZ, perhaps you can talk to or even meet.
Take care!
