more info
thank you Virginia. I've been out to two PD support groups and have found 3 more people with all the right symptoms for OT. Talking to them was like I had opened a box and let light in. Two of them had spouses there and they got all excited too and it was hard to stop talking and go home. For two of...

I NEED TO KNOW FROM ALL OF YOU....
I am a 54 year old Insurance agent/Writer who has just had her life turned upside-down (or more correctly "rightside-up") after 9+ years of living with a PD diagnosis: I feel like I have a puzzle with a 1000 pieces and I am finally putting them together to form a picture that makes sense. ...

more questions!!!
what is "orthostatic intolerance"? sounds like an inability to stand upright. I am new here and not familiar with all the variations of this disease (disorder?). I am learning at lightening speed though and I am SURE OT and it's variations are much more common than anyone thinks. I was tal...

whats a dx?
A "dx" is a diagnosis. I would say something like: "I was dx'd in 1996 with PD (Parkinson's disease)". There is an excellent website for neurological disorders run by MGH called "braintalk" the website is http://www.braintalk.org but it crashed a week ago and the webmei...

I'm just checking in, doing better
It looks to me like only women get OT. Are there any men on this forum? Is it a woman's disorder???? I gather from the absence of response that no one who has read this post has ever been on sinemet. What about Mirapex? My GP put me on Clobazam and I've been able to cut back my PD meds notably. I su...

I'm looking for Christel from BC
Does anyone know Christel from BC who was diagnosed at the UBC movement disorder clinic? She posted her story among the ones you can access through the homepage. I live in BC also and want to connect with you Christel. Who dx'd you? Christel or anyone who knows how I can reach her can e-mail me at j...

Hi Pat
I'm new here too. There are medications that can help OT. Have you tried to get a dx? Or are you in a situation where you can't get to a mvmt disorder clinic? My OT is extremely debilitating and I couldn't function without meds. From what I've read there is quite a variety of responses to different ...

just some of my thoughts
For the last nine years I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's and I'll skip the lengthy missive about how I ended up here but I'm pretty darn sure I have OT and a really wicked case of it. My GP put me on Clobazam and it has changed my life overnight. I know quite a bit about movement disorder as I...

Looking for anyone with levodopa responsive OT
Hi: I just found this site. I believe I have OT but I have been diagnosed with PD. Noone has ever mentioned that such a condition existed. I found out about OT by searching the web for "shakey legs" which led me to the Pubmed website. I have always been a problem parkie as I only seem to h...
