Is there any link between Lipid lowering medication & OT

Post by Jenn »

Hi

Just wondering whether there is anyone else diagnosed with OT who is also on statins to reduce their blood cholesterol level. Looking back I can tie the onset of my tremor to when I started on statins. Not sure if this is just a co-oincidence and would like to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Hi Jenn

Just a very short one. Just about to log off when I saw your topic.

I do not know if this will be of value to you, but if you go to Gloria's homepage, in the top left hand corner you will see NEWS. Click on that and scroll down 21 (I think) items and you will find neuroland.com.

The 2nd section is Physiologic Tremor and gives drugs which exaggerate tremor.

Now, I don't know which statin you are taking or its medical name, but there are a few names there, so take a peek; you never know.

Good luck

Hi Margie

Thanks for that. I've had a look. I finally seem to have arrived at a cocktail of medication now that keep my tremor markedly reduced so that I can carry on with an adapted lifestyle. The statin medication doesn't appear on the list. Maybe I just have to come to terms with the tremor, accept it's limitations and not try to find a cause.
