Hi, Tracy!

I'm not new to the board, just haven't been around much--even had to re-register--I was SBO before.

Anyway, I have epilepsy, OT and ET, too. My mother did as well, both of our first seizures were late in life in our 40s. The tremors came later, perhaps because of the meds we took/take for the seizures. Tremors can be a side effect.

My neuros are stumped, too. But the good news is that my epilepsy is very well controlled. The tremors, not so much--they are debiliating. We're working on some new med combinations, it's an uphill fight every day.

I wish your Mom well! (You, too!)

I don't know if this will help as I don't have epilepsy but I do have OT. My thoughts: I don't think even doctors know what causes OT and therefore don't know if it could be related to epilepsy. However, the neurologist who diagnosed my OT told me OT was a disorder of the brain (as is epilepsy) and that the medications that seemed to help OT are also used for epilepsy. I am taking one of those medications now and my OT symptoms are better. No one in my family has been diagnosed with OT (except me) or epilepsy.
