Thanks to Cleveland Clinic

Post by LHowan »

My family Dr. had sent me to a couple of neuroligists but thay all came up with a "0".
I asked my Dr. to get an appointment at Cleveland Clinic. The next week I was being checked out by the Dr. She said I think I know what you have. After checking me out for about an hour she said you have OT, and there are a couple of meds recommended: First she started me out with Klonopin 1mg. 1/2 twice daily. That put me into a daze and didn't seem to help. Then she switched to Neurontin 300mg 3 times daily, and then suggested a mix of some Klonopin with the Neurontin.
Has anyone experieced help from either of these meds?
I enjoy this site, and have noted other meds that some have used.

Thanks

I have been diagnosed with Ot 4years ago at the mayo clinic. I decided not to take any medication, and I have found ways to adjust to my situation I am exercising by doing weights and balancing ; and by pilates on a reformer 2 times a week. I ride my stationery bike, and walk at least a mile or two. I do all the driving, so I feel I can't even try to go on any meds. I have found that when I overdue and am really tired, the tremors are more pronounced. I used to be a type A personality, but not any more. I try to get at least 8 or 9 hours of sleep asoften as I am able, I agree with the helpfull suggestions, the stool in the kitchen, the wheel chair at air ports, the cane when in crowds etc. I try to stay positive, and am blessed with a loving family and grandchidren, I strongly feel that not very far offsome one will be able to locate the area in the brain for this neurological disorder and be able with some sort of stimulation to control the tremors. God bless. Helen k
