Just an update.

I think that my 'official' diagnosis was 2 years ago at age 64 but I have had the symptons for about 10 years. I also have some thinning of my bones and this July had a very minor fall that resulted in a crack in my thigh and painful bruising of the bones. ( The diagnosis via MRI was reached in late August!) The specialist directed me to completely rest for 2 weeks, no weight on my legs. I had to put my balance, core and leg strengthening program on total hold for 2 weeks. I continued with upper body strengthening. My OT symptoms considerably worsened. I felt that I had aged 10 years in the 2 weeks and I was frail. However I am now in my 3rd week of physio and am doing leg lifts with 6lbs weights. Today I walked 4 k in 35 minutes. My goal is 5k in under 45 minutes. I am now feeling great and plan to travel by plane to Chicago and spend Halloween with my 2 year old grand-daughter. I have not had much luck with medication but obviously my symptoms are relieved through exercise.
