As in my earlier posting I was wanting to know what kind of results would come out of a poll on this topic. I feel it is totally legitimate and actually gives us a reason behind how we came to have OT. I hope this will go ahead and everyone will participate if possible.

I hesitate with posting that question, only because estimates show that 8 or 10 people* are affected by back problems. There may be a correlation but the overwhelming response would most likely show the results that are at least as common as affected by the general public (80%) and possibly greater because of the average age of the forum members, and therefore results might point towards a false result.

Hi there!
Looking at it from that point of view I totally agree with you. I think I am thinking more about people like myself, who have had 2 operations and the docs have told me they won't touch me again, sort of thing. Also years of chronic back pain.
I think that this may have been the case with my own Doc, but knowing precisely what has happened to me over the last 27 years, I am inclined to disagree with OT not being connected. ( For myself that is!
) This is only because the last 'incident' happened in a different area of my back and I was totally incapacitated for over half an hour with pain.( I was standing at the time and couldn't move a hair ) From this time on the tremors started and since then ( 2000 ) have never gone away.
I guess I was thinking of trauma rather than ongoing back pain.
So thank you for that...it does make it rather harder to do any type of survey under those circumstances. I will however, keep fighting the reasoning behind this, as I KNOW my OT did in fact start at this time. There has got to be a reason for it somewhere in there!
