Mineral analysis

Post by Lynda »

Hi Everybody,
Several months ago I had a Hair Mineral Analysis test done - really to see if there was any indication of heavy metal toxicity. There wasn't! The heavy metal levels were all at an acceptable level (so my fillings are staying put!) - BUT some of my mineral levels were completely out of balance. Notably, potassium was very high and magnesium was extremely low. As magnesium is essential for proper nerve and muscle function, I have since been taking a magnesium supplement (and trying to include more in my diet) and as a result I have been feeling much better in myself. I wouldn't say that it has particularly improved the tremor, with the exception of the week before menstruation when my OT is always at its worst. I have seen a difference there. I'm wondering whether the reason my magnesium levels were so low is as a result of the OT - in other words, does coping with the tremor use up our magnesium resources? I really know nothing about this subject, but wonder whether anyone else does. Has anyone else discovered they have a magnesium deficit? I look forward to hearing your views on the subject.
Keep smiling :D

Lynda:

Very good update!

I hope that someday better analysis of individual body chemistry and corrective supplementation will make us healthier in general and prevent some illnesses. At present I’m supplementing with a tablet containing ALL minerals (without iron ). There are many such brands on the market. I do not believe this is a cure alone but I’m striving to use anything nutritionally that makes me feel better and promotes good health. The better I feel , the better I can cope with OT. Nonetheless, this is not my field and I too would be happy to hear from any researchers in this area of science who can suggest a nurtritional program for tremor sufferers to follow.
