Gastric resistant tablets

Hi My name is Lynda aged 55 from the UK
I was eventually diagnosed with POT by Dr Peter Bain in 2007. I have struggled over the past few years to keep my fitness levels up to try and keep the POT at bay but things have got progressively worse. 4 months ago I had a one off really bad heartburn episode (felt like a heart attack). My doctor put me on 40mg of OMEPRAZOLE to stop the acid reflux. Crazily, this has really helped with my tremor it has not gone away but I feel steadier and more grounded. The only way I can explain it is to imagine I am a pole in the ground and the pole has been knocked further into the ground so it has more support!! I have researched any links on the web as I cannot understand why this is helping. But it is. I came off the medication for 3 weeks and the tremor got worse again.
I am going to mail Dr Bain but thought it was worth sharing as I think this needs to be explored further and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience.

Lyn: Thanks for reporting your experience when you took OMEPRAZOLE for acid reflux. I personally have not heard of such a response from anyone else however we will see if anyone has had this experience. Perhaps Dr. Bain might know of a component in this medication that might have caused this reaction. All very interesting!! Gloria

I had ulcer. To avoid the pain when it attacks me, I drink healthy fruit drinks like oranges, apple and the latest one nopales fruit. Nopales benefits help to prevent from gastric ulcer and it is also heals ulcer issue. I want to avoid such problem in the future if possible.

I'm Tricia and have undergone acupuncture & massage for nearly 2yrs now, the result is slow and very little but seems to help. I wonder if you still take the 40mg of OMEPRAZOLE daily and it still help also what did Dr Bain say?

I live in Sheffield.
