Is there a connection between OT and the food rich with bad FAT that person eat almost whole life?
I read somewhere that prolonged use of fat tends to have same symptoms as OT with some people. We are talking about years and years of acumulating bad things in your joins (specially knees).
I know that this does not explain OT in young people, but I guess it's all question of genetics.
You know much more about this subject and have much more experience. What do you think?

OT connected with too much fat in diet?

Hi again Katya
I really can not answer your question, only tell you my experience.
Having had to lower my cholestrol after a high reading last year, (naughty bad food eater!), I decided the best way was to go vegetarian. Then a friend showed me a DVD which vividly displayed the cruel and inhumane way in which animals are reared, fed, and slaughtered. That was enough for me. I'm now strictly vegan.
And here's the thing!
I am feeling SO much better I am thinking there might be some truth about these theories of 'bad fat'.
But, as you say, it could be just a "question of genetics".
I wonder, as you do, if other OTers have had similair experiences.
Aussie Cheers, Katya,

OT connected with too much fat in diet?
Hi Margie,
thank you very much for replying!
I turned vegetarian since jan. 2005... but even before that I couldn't eat meat because of the thought that it was alive and tortured before it got on my plate. So, I guess this will also help me in the future not to develope OT (or to develope it later in life) if it has anything to do with genetics.
I only don't know if there is a way to undo all the bad things fat has done (if that is the issue)... but I am convinced that over a longer period of time a low fat diet will show a very good results, since it is already making you feel much better. I am really happy for you!!
that's it! I am putting my father on a diet ;)
it won't hurt to try...
Biiig kiss for Australia! I have close family there
take care, Margie!

PS. Thank God I didn't watch that DVD about animals! I think I would go around yapping on everyone who eat meat! :(((

Hi again Katya
When you say you have family here in Oz, it has reminded me of my visits to a chiropracter from Serbia in Melbourne in the early '90's. His diagnosis at that time was cerebelum tremor. At least he had a name for it and was very easy to talk to as well as being very caring.
The reason I write this is his remedy for my tremors.
He gave me pressure point massage, which I think at first, may have exaserbated the tremors, but for the following days (can't remember how many, sorry!) I was markedly better.
I was only there for a few weeks and when I returned home, I could never find another chiropracter who could give me the same relief.
I don't know if this information will be any use to you in helping your Dad, and, as I said, I could not get anyone else to replicate the treatment. I have tried almost every natural therapy in my venture to quell the little blighters.
Hope you are finding more helpful advice for your Dad.

ps that guy also told me his Grandmother's cure for the common cold was to wear a tight fitting singlet at the first sign of a sniffle. I do that now and I find it very effective. So I have many good healthy memories of my chiropracter from Serbia (though I think he might have trained in Melbourne at a very good college we have there!)
pps really good luck in putting your Dad on a diet.........
