Dear Harry: I was wondering if you could give us an update on how you are doing since you posted your topic "Help is here !!!!!!!!!!!! in which you shared your wonderful experience with Lyrica. I'm hoping that you are still doing as well because you certainly added exciting news about another medication. We all realize that all people do not react the same to medicines but some medications have a better track record with more people than others. I have found too that individual expectations of what a medication should do for them is another unmeasurable factor in the equation. Please let us know how you are doing, Gloria

What great news . I have just started taking Lyrica and my doctor Dr Rob Wilcox who has done research here and in the UK is hopeful that I will be back playing golf in a short time. He said my OT was severe and noted that I "froze" when trying to move after standing still for a time. However, after taking a couple of doses, to my husband's delight, I am now able to sleep without the horrible snoring resulting from trying to breathe due to sleep apnea. I have just returned home after doing a series of tests with the QUT medical research centre. They went into a kind of academic ecstacy when they were able to film my tremors and freezing in action. So I am a flm star - from the waist down anyway! Found the whole thing exhausting and slept for fifteen hours when I finally got home but feeling quite satisfied in knowing I have done my bit for science!
Hope you (and I) continue to improve

Hopefully, this drug will provide relief to many more OT sufferers.

So pleased Lyrica is working well for you. Have you had any side effects?
I Started on Lyrica (Pregabalin) on the 7th December 2009. I started on 50 mg at night and gradually built up to 200mg twice a day I have found that gradually over the period I have developed some nasty 'side effects'. It started with muscle pains in my arms and then pains in joints (Thumbs, fingers knees) plus I have had back pain for the first time in my life.
I have spoken to my GP and I have cut the dose by 50mg (150mg at night and 200mg in the morning) but this has not helped. I am seeing my GP on Friday to see what hhe suggests.
Saying all this my OT has improved and I am able to go into a shop and actually browse - and go to the checkout without panacking.
I started over 20years ago on Clonazepam and it worked really well - with no side effects.Unfortunately my body got used to it and I got up to 2mg which did not help.
Do hope you continue with Lyrica and that you do not get any side effects.

Do all of you take Lyrica with another drug or by itself? I am asking for my mother who is 79 and is trying to navigate the medicines for OT. She is currently switching from Gabapentin to Clonazepam.

LOVE IT! I've been taking Lyrica for 5 weeks now - and have had amazing results. (You can read about my journey on my post.) Side effects in the beginning were "drunk feeling", dizziness, nausea, foggy-headedness but this subsided gradually over 2 weeks. As I increased the dosage I felt the dizziness for about 2 days. I am now taking 125 mg twice a day. My legs feel weightless! It's very strange to have this sensation, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
