FUNDING TOTAL AS OF OCTOBER 7/2009

Hello everyone,

I just received a report from N.O.R.D. that our total as of the above date is $21,050.00.

This is quite good considering it hasn't been quite a year since we started. Please give
generously - it really is up to us!

Also, I did receive a final amount on the money raised from the dinner I held at the end of August.
It was $14,270.00 - this was made up of mostly Canadian money but there was some American
money as well and the total converted to U.S. dollars is $13,418.79.

I did receive a couple of emails from NORD people asking how the money was raised and I did let
them know and asked them to pass this idea along to other people with rare diseases who are
trying to raise funds as it is certainly something anyone could do - only on a smaller scale.

Wouldn't it be great if ie. 12 OT people decided to have a fund-raising dinner - we would have our
goal. Initially I remember thinking that if I had a dinner I could probably raise a couple of thousand
dollars. Needless to say I never dreamed it would end up like it did. Please give it some thought and
also do not be intimidated by the amount I raised - every amount is important!! Maybe our OT Community
can set an example to other groups with rare diseases and show them how it's done.

You have made so many contributions to our cause; but this one is OUTSTANDING! To have raised $14,270.00 is an amazing feat; thank you so much!

IF others could do what you have done ~ even on a smaller scale ~ we would reach our goal very quickly. But, perhaps not many have the space, connections etc you have, to do such a superior fund raiser. As Helen said, even NORD was impressed by what ONE person can do.

Maybe there will be some who might try; I hope so.

Again, we are so very proud of what you have done.

WE can add another thousand to that total given by a very good friend of mine this week.
She was away when the dinner was on.
I just sent it on to NORD
You must be very proud and pleased with the results of all your hard work.
Derm and i sure enjoyed that evening.
Meating all your family was such a pleasure.
