Re: My OT
I have orthostatic tremors. I have had it for aprox. 15 years, but like Parkinson disease it is getting progressively worse. I can walk fast with a cane, but I always carry a small chair because I can't stand more than a minute, then I begin to tremor and can easily fall. My neurologist has tried all medicines, again related to The Parkinson disease. My husband had Parkinson disease and now I am on my own. My Neurologist said recently, call me when you need me. So I do a lot of exercises, like water aerobics, chi-chi, yoga, walk as much as I can outside with a walker, use treadmill and standing bicycle indoors. I live in a 3 lev. house, so the steps are also good and i exercise in the bed in the morning before I get up. ... a varity of physical therapy, prescriptions, i also have different way of walking exercises. I eat healthy food, try not to gain any weight. I enjoy a glass of red wine before dinner that relaxes me. I sleep very good. I enjoy my garden, whatever I can do sitting down,I do my own laundry etc., I take cruises and day trips. It helps to get out of the house, meet other people, have fun, laugh, that helps too. I hope I am helping other people with O.T. with my letter and I hope Stem Cell research will come to us. The problem is that very few people know what O.T is, so limited donations for us. I am looking for all the help and advice i can get. Thank you.

HI Inga,
Welcome to our group.
I was wondering where you got diagonesed.
I visit that area and haven't heard any doctors there who are familiar with this disease.
Sounds like you are doing all you can to keep in shape.
take good care
