OT

Post by Eleanor W »

Have any of you found a little thickening around the waist and tummy? I have and I know why. I sit to do everything possible. Cook, bathe, volunteer work. And I'm afraid to walk alone. I live in an adult community and everyone stops and chats when you are out taking a walk. I try to walk and my intentions are good, but----. I don't eat a lot, but I exercise very little. Anybody else have this problem?

Too Little Exercise

Post by Betty »

Hi Eleanor,

I had to smile :) when I read your posting ~ YES! I, too, have found I am getting a little more waist and tummy than I would like! I know it is from lack of exercise; yet there are few exercises I can do other than walking and even that is beginning to become limited and difficult for me.

There are a few exercises which can be done on the floor; such as modified situps and lifting your buttocks off the floor, holding for about ten seconds, and then back to the floor. This is done while your head, shoulders and feet remain stationary. This may help and you don't feel you will fall ~ you are already ON the floor! Start with a few and work up as you feel you can tolerate them.

These help, but are exhausting to me! I have tried them and really should try again. When you begin to have problems fitting into your clothes ~ it is time to do something!
