ATTENTION: ATTENTION: ATTENTION: Hi, my name is Mary Chicalace & I was diagnosed with orthostatic tremors 2 years ago. I have tried all kinds of prescription drugs prescribed by my neuerologist, went to chiropractors, accupunture, with no relief. I can only stand up for 5-10 seconds without either sitting or walking. I found this website
www.break4health that has changed my life. Jenny Mandell is the owner. I use the PowerPlate which vibrates your whole body. It has enhanced my muscular strength, has helped with my circulation and balance. I go once or twice a week & now I can stand for between 45 seconds to 1 MINUTE!!!!! HUGE PROGRESS!!! Please check out this website
www.break4health it will change your life. The owner Jenny Mandell has MS & is now in remission because of this vibration therapy. Jenny is the best & I thank her with all my heart for helping people with these horrible disorders.

Hi Mary
Thanks for posting your experience with vibration therapy. I wonder if you can tell us a little more about the therapy treatments. Are you lying down on a surface and for how long? How many treatments before you noticed some benefit? And does the benefit diminish between sessions?
Where were you diagnosed with OT and do you know if they used a surface EMG to record your tremors?
When you were diagnosed 2 years ago, approximately how long could you stand?
best regards
Gloria

Hi Gloria, The PowerPlate machine is like steeping on a doctor's scale, it has a platform that you stand on * then a computer attached to the front of the machine with like handlebars to hold on to. The technician sets the computer for between 30 to 45 seconds. The machine vibrates your whole body, it contracts your muscles 30 times per SECOND. It feels great. You can also lay down on the machine & they place rollers on the platform & your legs are on the platform & then they set the machine for a certain amount of seconds or minutes & then it vibrates your legs. THe technician puts a little pressure on your legs and it feels so good. Before I started PowerPlate I could only stand between 5 to 10 seconds, now I am up around 45 seconds to 1 minute standing. It took me maybe 4 sessions to increase my time standing & then every week it has increased. Sometimes the benefit diminish but never less than 30 seconds. I am not familiar with EMG can you explain further? I hope this answers some of your questions. Thank You for all that you do.
