some new relief

Hello to all OT's. I haven't posted anything on this new site but use to chat on the old site that Gloria started. I have been an OT suffer for about 15-17 years, and have tried most of the medications that seem popular, but I got no relief from any of them so have not been on medication for about 2 years. I have all the symptoms that most of you have and find it quite dibilitating (which this disease is). About 1 month ago I visited my local G.P who is new in the area and chatted about OT, he had not heard of it. I asked him if he could recommend a medication that could help. He told me to try Endep 50 (Amitriptyline Hydrochloride 50 mg). He told me they are an antidepressant and work on the brain nerves. He said try them for 1 month and if they don't work just wean off them. Well I have done just that and have found a great relief. I can stand for longer and do not tremor in seconds, also able to now lean on things and cope very well. This is not a cure but it sure has help me. I think if anybody is going to try it, it would be best for people that are not on any medication at this time and see what results others get. Lorna
