Acupuncture
I was wondering if anyone out there has tried acupuncture or meditation to relieve the stress of OT. It was mentioned to me when I first had OT, and I scoffed at the time. Now that I've tried every medication in the book (that my neurologist and I know of), I'm wondering about the above.

J
meditation and/or accupuncture
hello Eleanor
I have for many years done meditation and have had accupuncture for a condition called SLE. It helped I feel with the immune system and for specific pain but i have not been treated for the tremor.
I am getting pretty tired of this OT so will try and explain to the practitioner and see where it leads. I have moved to a country area and unfortunately there is not a great deal of medical help here so i have been lax in finding someone for accupuncture that i would feel confident with treating me. Next month when i go to the Neurologist in Sydney, (550kms away) I will also go see the wonderful Chinese Medicine Practitioner and see what he thinks.
Am I alone in the way that I feel about OT?
I have had major problems with the other condition but find this constant, impertinent, and lifestyle altering tremor causes me much more trouble at work, at home and socially (actually I go out less frequently because of the OT). J:?:

OT's, of course!
Hello, J: Good to hear from you! NO. You are not alone, feeling the way you do about your OT's. All of us, who have it, feel as you do. There are many things I just cannot do, and many that I do, I need help. I, too, use a bench in the shower and also in the kitchen. I wouldn't be able to prepare dinner without my bench! I know I said meditation in my last e-mail, but I meant hypnotism. And what is the health problem you have that is treated with meditation? I never heard of it.
Are you married? Have a family? Do you live in Australia? Can't believe it. I live in Red Bank, New Jersey, USA. Not exactly next door!
Good luck in our next visit to the doctor. I'd love to hear how you make out. Eleanor
