Hi to all from this wonderful British hot sunny day (what makes you think we don't get many!).

I was just reading a leaflet supplied with Lyrica ie; side effects etc, when one section caught my eye:- What is Lyrica used for - so without printing the whole thing, part of it said:- To treat long lasting pain caused by damage to the nerves. A variety of diseases can cause peripheral neuropathic pain such as diabetes or shingles. My interest here was, I have had shingles twice, could there be a connection & have any other OT'ers had shingles?

I am probably grabbing at straws again but any prognosis would help.

My son was on Lyrica but it made him like a zombie but getting back to your question No he hasn't had shingles.
As for the weather - it is very humid here in my part of the country with no sun only clouds

Hi all, regarding Lyrica being used as a nerve pain this is so, as also being used for tremors etc.
I saw a program where a lady had had a double masectomy, and was in constant pain due to nerve ends not joined, she was put on Neurontin, this stopped her pain. Also a friend of mine had a face operation and she had nerve end damage, also took Neurontin to stop pain. So its amazing what meds they use now for differenct ailments. regards Lorna.
