If you are using BOTH in some kind of combination, was it recommende by your doctor?
Did it help? What about side effects?
I used CLONAZEPAM for several months and am currently having problems switching to GABAPENTIN. It's only been a week and am still on just 300 mg of GABAPENTIN which I take once a day in the evening. Tomorrow I am supposed to increase the dose to twice a day, but am reluctant to do so since I have been having numerous reactions to it.
I did discontinue CLONAZEPAM until today. With GABAPENTIN I immediately started to have numerouus side effects - head throbbing, squeezing feeling in the head, generally odd feeling almost like I had a fever (which I do not have), perhaps dizziness or something similar to it, shakiness, etc.
The doctor mentioned that I could experiment with adding some CLONAZEPAM, which I did finally do today and it immediately helped with the GB side effects. I used half of a .25 mg tablet and I feel much better. However, I presume that since my last dose of GABAPENTIN was last night that there wasn't much left of it in my system at 4 pm, if any. But at 10 pm I have just taken my evening GB tablet and there may be both in my system right now. I should know soon if I feel anything in particular with both, albeit at probably low levels.
Has anyone tried adding using both and at what dosage levels?
The small dose, i.e. half of a .25 mg tablet of CLONAZEPAM was also my previous favourite daytime dose since it did help and did not make me as sleepy. At night I would use the same level or increased it to 1 and sometimes 2 of the .25 tablets if I did not get to sleep immediately.
I found CLONAZEPAM helpful, however it does make me sleepy and also it affects my concentration somewhat. For me it was the best at low doses, especially during the day. Just half of a .25 tablet either once or twice during the daytime followed by the same level or a bit more at night.
I am currently trying out GABAPENTIN since it is supposed to have fewer side effects and is less likely to cause sleepiness and other side effects. I am not yet sure whether this will be true in my case or whether it is a good idea to use both in some kind of combination.
Anyone have any experience or thoughts about these two medications, especially if used together?

Re: Anyone using Clonazepam and Gabapentin together?
I just started taking 300mg gabapentin (today actually) so i guess i am waiting to feel the real effects of this med. I have been taking 20mg of lexapro once a day and 1.5mg of clonazepam a day (two at night and one in the morning). Usually I feel pretty energized when I take both the lexapro and clonezepam. However, just taking both the clonazepam and gabapentin at night the side effects have hit me extremely hard. I feel as if I am almost drunk or on some other kind of drug. I know they both have a side effect of drowsiness so now i am wondering whether or not i should be taking them at the same time. I will say that the clonazepam does help with my anxiety but I still do have some anxiety attacks where I take .5 mg of lorazepam to calm me down. Not sure if you're dealing with pain or anxiety but so far clonazepam has been working out well for me. If anyone knows whether or not that these two drugs can be taken at the same time that would be great! Maybe since it is my first time taking it and my body is not used to the medication I am having the side effects. I know that I am on low dosages for each of these medications but I am now thinking that maybe i should cut one out like take only the gabapentin (which I take twice daily for a week and then increase it to two pills twice daily (so four times a day)). Any thoughts? I am new with all these drugs but use them because they help me very much with my daily life.
