Hello Gloria, its been at long time since I wrote, but have been very interested in the fact that some are taking beta blockers with the Neurotin, I am up to 1200m three time a say, its not enough but here in Australia the cost is so much I just cant afford stronger strength.
I have a very understanding doctor, who is always pleased if I can find out anything new to tell him.
I now have a scooter, thought i never would but I have to admit it gives me a freedom of sorts, I can take myself off to the shops or park, just that little bit of independence.
I would love to hear form anyone here in Australia, it may help our case to get the medication recognized and get it cheaper and support for each other as well. Thank you Gloria, reading your site, first got me to the Neurontin, which for me even though I still shake, rattle and roll, a lifesaver, as I do have good days where I can get a few hours of productive work in. For those that dont know I was told I had the condition and had tests to confirm in 1993.
I have allowed myself to be a guinea pig for tests etc, but wont anymore, it was too distressing and made me ill for days after.
Would be pleased to hear form anyone with good ideas on how to manage , I have worn two knees out, and having ops on them, and lately two falls one not good

You have been taking a realistic approach and trying things that you feel will work for you as an individual and that is the way to go. Your wish to make contact with other OT people in Australia is a very positive and rewarding thing to do. Also in answer to your question about Neurontin and beta blockers, I'm glad you ask the question here on the Forum and perhaps there are other people that have tried this combination. I have not tried that combo myself so I can not answer you, perhaps someone else can help. Unfortunately, the fact remains as it is for all tremor disorders, the medicines available all fall short of being any substantial help to us but as I have said before I find it is better than without anything.
