I'm new here and have already posted in the forum today. I'm so thrilled to see so many with same condition. (And saddened too that we all have to suffer as we do.)

I was wondering how many of you use alcohol to alleviate your tremor during social interactions? I find it works for me but was cautioned that many people take it too far and become alcoholics.

I also, on occassion have taken valium which helps greatly. Anyone have something that they take just when the need arises that works for you?

Dear Jackie: From the info in your other postings, and the statement that you have been " officially diagnosed with ET ( essential tremors)", than if this is the case, the reason that you respond favorably to alcohol is that ET sufferers do. People with OT in general do not. Gloria
