Ann Dodd- Australia. My D.B.S. is still going well for Primary Gait Freeze.My OT is getting worse & it hard to walk as long as I used to. I use a walking stick & hang on to my husbands arm. So going shopping (I hate to do it) but use a wheelchair.At least I am not ill and can still get out & see my friends. Just be grateful for not having a terminal illness.
We are strong as long as we all keep talking to one another & try & be helpful to one another. We are planning a short trip to New Zealand in early February also my friend Daphne (OT) from UK is coming out again & staying with us.Daphne also came out for 6 weeks in May. We had the time of our life going down the Gold Coast & going to Sydney for 4 days,
We had never met in person before but we skyped every week. We got on like long lost friends & looking forward to her next visit at the end of February.Until next time keep as well as you possibly can. Regards,Ann

Hello Ann: You are so good about posting updates on how you are doing especially with your DBS and how it has helped with your Primary Gait Freeze and not OT. This is always of GREAT interest to your OT friends on the forum. DBS is a difficult offering for OT at present with the big question of why it seems to work for just a few but not at all for others. I find many OT friends seem to be waiting to see more research in finding the cause of OT and perhaps resulting in a better direction for a cure. Like you I too find meeting with other OT friends and corresponding is great way of keep our minds released from feeling the loneliness of OT. When I think of the worldwide extent of our membership on the website and the connecting of the OT Community is great. However, I wish more people would realize posting their location in their PROFILE when they register is a good way to possibly find OT people within a reasonable distance from them to meet.
