Looking for neurologist open to new ideas - Tampa Bay area?

Post by norak »

Can anyone recommend an open minded neurologist in the Tampa Bay area? A few years ago, I went to one in Sarasota who used Prolotherapy in his practice. It helped measurably but was expensive, not covered by insurance, and a long drive from Tampa where I live. I'm vegetarian and until a couple of years ago, avoided traditional medicine in favor of supplements. First noticed tremor about 30 years ago and did eventually try Gabapentin and Neurontin, which seem to help many here, but not me. Alternative medicine and nutrition kept me mobile for 25 years. Now I have days I can't get put of bed, much less walk a straight line. Now I am hyperthyroid, hypertensive and have high cholesterol and I have an appointment next month to check out a sleeping disorder. Not saying for sure it's the meds I'm now taking, but I want to go back to a simpler protocol and give my body another chance to heal itself. At the same time, I acknowledge POT still has no definite cause and want to see one more neurologist in hopes that the good work done here may have brought up some answers or at least questions in the minds of more recently trained practitioners. Can anyone help?
