folding high stool for airplane travel

Does anyone have a suggestion for a portable folding lightweight high stool that would work for airplane travel? I have had OT for 5 years now and am to the point where I can't stand (and lean into the counter) to do simple things like brush my teeth, comb my hair, put on makeup, etc. I have 2 kitchen stools that I use at home for rinsing dishes, cooking, washing hands, etc., and a higher bar stool in front of my washing machine to facilitate doing laundry. Basically I can stand 1-2 seconds. I have thought about calling ahead to have one available where we are staying, but if anyone has any ideas on this subject I would sure appreciate it. There is a cane with a seat that folds up that you can buy
It is very handy for travelling or anywhere where you have to wait in line.
Most people with O.t. use them.
I have stools around the house just as you say.
I also use a walker for shopping.

Stella, thanks so much for your reply. I have a sling cane, which was recommended on this website. It works much better for me than a cane with a folding seat. What I am asking about is something much higher that I can use at a sink for brushing my teeth, etc. The canes are much too low for this. Anyone else?

There are posts covering this dilemma on this site, under the title, "things that help". Drafting chairs, bar stools on wheels, etc. Perhaps there is something there that will help. I personally like the drafting stool in the kitchen, on wheels and have a very lightweight bar stool (it folds up)that I use in the bathroom for brushing teeth etc. that I can move around easily. By the way, I found this at Wal-Mart and bought 3 of them for various rooms in the house. I use the sling cane in my laundry room (along with the bar stool from Wal-Mart ) and keep one in my car. I always go the handicapped route when traveling because that way I avoid the lines, which I could never stand in, and am boarded early with all the other wheelchair travelers.

Jolarson, thank you so much for your very helpful reply. I am sorry to be so late in getting back to this thread. I think the folding high stool that I can order from Walmart will be just the ticket. I am glad to hear you like yours so much. I appreciate the advice about traveling too. I am going to go the wheelchair route from now on when at the airport. I have started using the electric carts at the grocery store, Walmart, Shopko, etc. I even got brave enough to back mine up and park it before I got off!! I find that sitting on the electric cart when checking out is very helpful, because I am at a better height to sign the little credit card machine. Small victories!!! If I find a collapsible high stool that is in a case that we can check at the airport, I will let others know. Still looking for that rare creature. Thanks again! Mary

I have wooden stools in different rooms of the house.
My husband shortens the leggs to the height i need.
Different for each room. Then he puts wheels on them.
Works well for me

For air travel, a rolling carryon can also be used as a rolling seat. Joust get the kind that are free standing with the handle extended and you can easier sit on the end of the suitcase while waiting in line...I always did.

I found my solution in a shop for hunting material. A threelegged stool, the seat is a triangle and the legs can be extended to the hight I find useful. I'm planning to use this when visiting museums, waiting in a crowd (theatre, cinema) aso as it's quite high and I'm not seated at knee level of standing people. its lightweight of course - and surely perfect for travelling.

At home I'm considering a very simple stool (is that the word?) - without back-support or armrests but you can rise and lower it by pressure only - perfat I think to have around the house. Probably available at IKEA or similar company that has some simple office chairs and stools...
