Hi Mike, now you know you neeeeed this doggy to keep you as fit as possible, if you did'nt have him/her you would be less mobile & you know what less mobile means with our complaint! so keep walking & keep leaning, it gives the neighbours something to entertain them anyway & you certainl...

Lyrica
Hi to all from this wonderful British hot sunny day (what makes you think we don't get many!). I was just reading a leaflet supplied with Lyrica ie; side effects etc, when one section caught my eye:- What is Lyrica used for - so without printing the whole thing, part of it said:- To treat long lasti...

Re: How is everyone?
Hi Mike, I suppose you are right we do just get on with it, maybe we have become complacent knowing there's not a lot of help in the medical world at the moment for us. It never ceases to amaze me how very thoughtful & caring the members of this site are & at times very amusing (like yoursel...

Hi Joan, what a wonderful attitude you have, we need our sense of humour to keep our sanity, and when reading all the messages on this site it comes across what lovely people we all are, so keep on dancing Joan as I will certainly be a dancing too.
Best wishes, Patty

Re: Do any of you suffer from backache due to OT ?
Hello Maria, welcome to this site, which I too found a blessing because of all the wrong diagnosis I have had over the years. I eventually (after finding this site) went to see Dr Peter Bain in London who confirmed that I had OT (my own GP had never heard of it). I have paid for numerous tests &...

Stress & OT
Hi everyone I was only diagnosed with OT last year (05) by Dr Peter Bain after many years of tremor symptoms when standing. Previous to this I had tried many other routes to try & find out what was going on. One of these therapies was to see a lady who specialised in relaxation and I must say th...

Symptoms
My symptoms are virtually the same as described ie, not feeling safe walking down stairs but okay going up, the difficulty with darkness the same as mentioned, a sort of swaying motion, having to hold onto anything available. When standing in one position for any length of time having to shuffle bac...

Symptoms
Hi everyone I have been looking through some of the topics again and found it interesting that a lot of OT sufferers seem to have similar, either related, or unrelated problems ie, neck problems, back problems & low blood pressure, I myself have all three of these problems, the neck was diagnose...

Finding a Neurologist
Hi Gloria Just a big thank you for this setting up this site, I do feel more relaxed just be being able to put a name to my symptoms. I will email the National Tremor Foundation for the name of an appropriate Neurologist in my area and will let you know the outcome. Although I should go back to my G...

My boat had a hole
Hi Joya
Thanx to this site I thought my boat did have a hole and was sinking fast but now I feel more buoyant!!
What is a dx? We live in the dark ages here in England especially about OT so any information would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your response

Hi to each and everyone of you who have brought back my sanity and faith in human nature. I have been an OT sufferer for about 15 years, but have never been diagnosed, although I have had many tests, I understand the difficulty in reaching a conclusion because I usually look quite well, and manage f...
