Re: RESEARCH & MEETING IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA

I have been eliminated from the OT research at Omaha. :( I have had vertigo for many years on occasion due to an inner ear problem. They are going to study balance disturbances, movement disorders and unsteadiness. Of course I do have all of those symptoms. Hopefully they will learn a lot from the o...

Re: How is everyone?

Mike, Sorry for the loss of your mother. Regardless how old one is it is difficult to lose a mother. Congratulations to your daughter on her accomplishments. I do not tweet but do Facebook and I have met a couple of OT sufferers. I try to get the word out about the forum. My tremors seem to be getti...

Re: How is everyone?

Stella, What do you think that is, with the swallowing thing? I have been paying more attention to the situation. Swallowing is not as much of a problem as chewing when I am tired. My muscles/jaw seem to be just as tired as my legs and the rest of my body after I get tired from activities. Perhaps I...

Re: How is everyone?

I have been reading about voice change. I do not have that but I do notice if I am shopping and stop for a break and eat something that it may get difficult to chew and swallow. It is as if my tongue is tired! I do not choke on the food but need to take more time to chew and swallow. Has anyone noti...

Re: How is everyone?

Gloria, What a wonderful event you are going to experience with the wedding coming up of your grand daughter. I think it is great that you can practice dressing since I probably would not have an outfit yet. That would not be because of OT either. Just because it takes me a long time to find somethi...

Re: essential tremor and orthostatic tremor different sympto

The doctor recommended I take Co Q 10, 100mg 3X day. I did for awhile but decided on my own to take one pill daily. I really should up the dose as recommended. I also take Vit. B and that is suppose to help nerves too. Whether either works I have no idea but am afraid to stop since my tremors seem t...

Re: essential tremor and orthostatic tremor different sympto

I have been to Mayo and have been involved with Dr. Matsumoto's research in neurology. He told me that when my arms and hands shake it is from OT. I have had OT for 15 years or so and am not in a wheelchair. I know a lot of people have worse symptoms than I do. I attribute my "better condition&...

Re: Diagnosed but puzzled

Betty, Charee, Hello from MN, I understand that lorazapam is very similar to clonazepam. It's primary use is not for seizures as most of the other drugs that are prescribed. When I took most of those other seizure drugs it made me shake all over. Even difficult to comb my hair. Unless I wanted a rea...

Re: Diagnosed but puzzled

Welcome Charee, I see you have just posted. This is a great site but it would be better for both of us if we did not have to join, right? I have had tremors for many years but not as bad as many people. I hurt sometimes, in fact after biking yesterday my left side was really annoying. I do not know ...

Re: OT discussion on Talk Radio Europe

Dear Mike and Gloria, Thank you so much for getting the word out for the OT people. Good to hear your voices! I have not heard recently from the neurologist who listened to us when we met in Rochester MN. Sometimes I send him information from this site. I know he is still doing research from all the...

Re: How is everyone?

Mike,
Does this mean we should all have a heart attack? Morbid sense of humor I have! I have forwarded your comments to Dr Matsumoto at Mayo. I have had no reply but thought maybe it might be interesting to him. I am hoping your surgery goes well.

Re: Do any of you suffer from backache due to OT ?

Sharon, So sorry to hear of all your problems. Back surgery outcome is so unpredictable. I do have some minor back problems when I walk too long. Especially if I want to shop. By the time I get to the area I want in a store I have no energy to complete the task. That is usually the time my lower bac...
