Re: OT - Experienced over time; the Golfnut story

Dear Golfnut, It sounds as though your meeting with Dr. Bain was very successful and he was pleased with your improvement. I am so happy for you! I was also happy to read how your golf has improved; being able to stand and address the ball with little or no tremors...even putting ending with a 68 ne...

Re: 2013 OT Meeting Australia News!

Hello Sue, It appears you have everything under control and you should have a wonderful meeting. I am so excited for all of you. It is so important to meet and be able to talk to someone else with OT. You will be able to compare notes and see just how much you are the same. I look forward to your no...

Re: what say others?

Hello DiDi, So happy to hear your art opening is over and went so well. It was also good to hear how well you coped with the situation; I'm sure it was a challenge at times, but you did it! Good for you! :D As you said, and Gloria agreed, if we plan ahead, things should go more smoothly; it worked f...

Re: 2013 OT Meeting Australia News!

Hi Sue, I attended the first meeting held here in the U.S.; it was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. We also had a professional video made and Jeff put it on this site. He is the one who also put all the notes taken by Pat on the site....he is wonderful that way. I'm sure he will do the same for ...

Re: 2013 OT Meeting Australia News!

Hello Sue, I am so excited for all who live in New Zealand and Australia, that you have had such a good response to your upcoming meeting. I will be eager to hear all about it and hope someone will take notes, and some pictures, and post them to this site. We here in the U.S. have been so fortunate ...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hello Rich, You do have a great sense of humor, something we all need. Now...as to whether your "web tablet" is better than mine; that may be up for discussion! Actually, I am not that tech savvy, so I must depend on Jeff to set me straight. I do have an iPad; printed out the informa...

Re: OT - Experienced over time; the Golfnut story

Dear Golfnut, It is always such a delight to read how well you are doing. So....you will be traveling to London and will be able to see Dr. Bain. Since you saw him in 2011, it should be interesting to hear what he has to say about your improvement ~ and no medication! I feel all will be as eager as ...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hi Jeff, Thank you so much for the information; you ALWAYS come through for me as well as many others. I am on my computer now, but I will work on my iPad a little later and hopefully will be able to get the apps on my iPad. I am so eager to try this; as I said, this is VERY exciting to me. I will l...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hello! Rich, is your web tablet the same thing as an iPad? We do have one of those. Thank you so much for sharing your experience testing the calf of your wife and your calf. I tried to access the links you added in your post, but it wasn't an active link. I will try to copy and paste it unless you ...

Re: Successful non surgical treatment for Essential Tremor

Hi Peggy,

Thank you so much for the information on ET. I do have tremors in my hands, but certainly not as severe as the one shown in the clip. It is encouraging to see there is treatment which is not invasive.

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hello Rich, It must have been exciting to actually see your tremors on your web tablet. When I was diagnosed in 2002, I was able to see my tremors on a screen at the neurologists office. I had quite a few tests done and the "spikes" were very high. As I said earlier, we don't have a smartp...

Re: How is everyone?

Hello again Cindy, I am happy if I was at all helpful to you. As for essential tremors, I don't have any problems with my head or face, just my hands and that's when I try to do some tasks. However, typing is one thing I can still do with no problems. I most certainly WILL get in touch with you if w...

You are so right, Peggy. Most do not realize how fortunate we are to have Jeff working so hard, all the hours he spends on this site to keep it current and keep all of us on track.

We owe him so much.

Re: How is everyone?

Hello Cindy, I think the best way to get an answer to your question would be to ask your neurologist. He/she would be more qualified to answer; however, I can tell you about me. First, to answer your question, and I am NOT a medical person: OT involves the legs and whole body; essential tremors usua...
