Re: Perampanel

I have tried fycompa. I found that it seemed to help quite a bit initially, but after a few weeks, it was no longer effective. I had been taking 2 mg. and I increased it for a few days to 4 mg. to see if it would continue to help. It did not, so I tapered off and returned to gabapentin, the drug I h...

Zoloft

I have had OT since 1996. It started shortly after I began taking Zoloft. I've always wondered if there's a relationship between the drug and the OT. The neurologist I saw at the time, before I learned that I had OT and who had no idea of what was wrong, said that there may have been an underlying c...

Re: Medications that have worked best for me

I have been taking Clonazepam for several years. It seems to be the first line of treatment and it helped me. I take .25 mg 4 x daily. My conditioned worsened some time ago and I was given Keppra (leviteracetam) in addition to the Clonazepam. This combination has worked the best for me. I am usuall...

Re: Alcohol as a cause of early onset of OT

Hoping for views and info from the group , as I am still reeling from a meeting with a neurology Doctor (at Great Britains 'National Neurological Hospital') who told me that I had precipitated early onset of OT by drinking too much alcohol. (I am 52 years old and recently diagnosed, though already ...

Re: OT poll - medication that HAS OFFERED SOME RELIEF

I've been taking gabapentin for about 8 years. I take 900 mg. (300 mg. 3 times per day), at which level the tremors are tolerable. I had taken as much as 3600 mg. daily (increasing the amount gradually over time), which helped a good deal, but, not wanting to take so much medication, I gradually red...

Josephine,

I'm not sure who you are asking, but in an earlier message I referred to Gabapentin.

Thanks for your response, Lorna. I'm already taking B6, B12 and folic acid. So, I will add the SAM-e to my regimen.

Thanks again.

Hello All,

Just to clarify for anyone who may not know - Gabapentin is the generic for Neurontin. (I used to take Neurontin, now take Gabapentin.)

Some great success

Hi Lorna,

I'm so happy to hear of your success. I also take Neurontin for my O.T. and it is definitely helpful. In your post of Aug. 8 you mentioned that you had been taking SAM-e. What was the dose?

Thanks and all the best to you.

Anita
