Re: How is everyone?
I have been on Clonazepam and Miraplex since my diagnosis, and doing well except for the sleepiness. I talked to my neurologist about changing the timing of the meds. Instead of taking Clonazepam .5 mg. twice daily, I am now taking .25 mg. four times a day. Yesterday, I got busy and forgot my two mi...

Re: How is everyone?
Well, I keep getting lost in cyberspace, so I'll try once more. Went to see my neurologist last week and we adjusted the timing on my meds. I say "we" because I prefer to be a partner in my health care. Also went to physio for evaluation of balance and gait. I start the actual work tomorro...

[quote="marian"]My name is Bea, and I live about 2 hours west of Seattle, WA. I was diagnosed with POT by a neurologist about 5 months ago, after 3 years of testing for anything which would explain my symptoms! It was a relief to at least have a name for it. I am currently taking Primidone...

Re: How is everyone?
I'm not feeling like my legs are going to collapse on me if I don't find some where to sit down RIGHT NOW! And I haven't had to sit on the floor or sidewalk since I was diagnosed. However, I have some side effects I don't really like....sleepiness, frequent dreams, and increased tremor of my hands a...

Exercise
Since being diagnosed a few months ago, I try to go for a walk on my good days. Some days I can't get far at all, but other days I am okay. Does anyone have experience in exercise helping to slow down the progress of OT? I would love to hear from you regarding this.

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction
Hi, Tracy. I had one episode which lasted for about 12 hours in which I was unable to do more than crawl around. This was before my diagnosis. I called 911 and was taken to the hospital, where they gave me 5 bottles of IV fluid. They thought it was my low blood pressure and did more tests, sending m...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction
Hi! My name is Bea. For about three years I suffered from episodes where my legs would collapse and I would have to sit down before I fell down. My doctor blamed it on low blood pressure (which I do have 70/40 is farirly normal for me). But I was put on Mididrone and my BP increased, but the episode...

Re: Recently diagnosed with O T
I was FINALLY diagnosed with OT, after three years of testing. The EMT was the deciding factor. 02/09/09, I was placed on a combination of Mirapex .25 mg. twice a day, and Clonazepam .5 mg. twice a day. Since then I have had one severe episode and one slight one, which is a vast improvement.
