Re: Medication

Good to hear from you Gloria. Yes, I do have a friend who lives here in Newport Beach that I have known for years and I hadn't seen her for a long time. Anyway, we connected recently and found out she too has OT. She is lucky to have a husband who is tremendous help to her and they do quite a bit of...

Re: Medication

Has anyone tried the over the counter medication called L-theanine? Apparently it is used for anxiety. I have been on clonazepam for number of years after trying many others. It seems to be the only one that calms me down especially when I have to be in a stressful situation. But I am curious about ...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

I ordered the book through amazon. It is a paperback and the price is only $8.09! I also had no shipping changes using prime. Hope it tells our story so I can lend it to my family and friends.

Re: NEWS FROM DR. TORRES-RUSSOTTO & TENTATIVE OT MEETING

Oh I wish I could attend and participate in the study. I know it is hard for everyone to get to Omaha for it and it is impossible for me. My daughter who would travel with me will be in China with my granddaughter and she is the only one that could accompany me. Too many change of planes (which I ha...

Re: Victimhood

Very well stated. We all are more comfortable in our own environment, but sometimes we have to venture out and are in unfamiliar situation etc. It is then that the OT becomes almost impossible, and we forge ahead trying to find a place to sit or wherever would be the best for us and do it immediatel...

Re: NORD OT RESEARCH HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!!

This is the news we have all been waiting to hear. Thanks to Gloria and everyone on this site who have contributed so much information and also donations. Very exciting news! We all have to continue to spread the word about this disease and hopefully the doctors who will do the research will give us...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Hi all - Just thought I would relate to you an amazing experience I had yesterday at Costco. This past week I got out my luggage tag that I printed from this site with the Handicapped symbol on it. I decided since I was alone on a Saturday going to Costco that I would hang that tag on the outside of...

Re: Getting a diagnosis

Marlana, hope the Neurontin continues to help with the standing, shaking and anxiety issues. I seem to have a low tolerance for medications. I have had OT for years, tried everything, every med, physical therapy etc. with no success. I do take clonazepam when I go out of the house or find myself hav...

Re: Getting a diagnosis

Marlana, keep us updated on how the Neurontin helps. It didn't help me because of quickly having terrible side effects. But, perhaps I didn't give it a chance. You are so fortunate to have found a doctor that understands, I've never had that in the many years of having OT. Again, keep us all updated...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Nannykin, all of us who have been on the site have found that there is no cure. It is just something that is very hard to live with. It must have been very difficult to have surgery for a brain tumor and I can see why you thought it was a regrowth of the same. Thank heavens it wasn't. I hope the the...

Re: How is everyone?

Just to add, I try to never allow myself in a small space, if possible. As we all know and probably all do, is where ever we are, the first thing we do is size up what we are getting into and then the plan of where we are going to first. This is all done within seconds, it is just an immediate react...
