Re: Pure Qxygen

Please re-read my response: "pure oxygen can be deadly". I stand my ground with ER and EMT experience.

Re: Muscle fatigue - muscle deterioration - exercising

Am I the only one who is frustrated and ANGRY that, because OT is a "rare" condition, there must be an extreme lack of research regarding it? I feel that it's because there must not be any profit in it for the pharmaceutical companies. If a FAMOUS person had it, the treatment would miracul...

I am truly happy for you. What have you done to alleviate the tremors of Orthostatic Tremor? (No doctor will call you, BTW.)

Re: The use of statins to reduce cholesterol levels for patients with OT

Both my husband and I suffered from leg cramps at night. We each started drinking just PLAIN TONIC WATER (which has quinine in it). Leg cramps gone, even with just occasionally drinking it now. I am the one with OT for now and the last three years. It can be very depressing, even though I know it co...

Re: Cautionary tale; it's not always OT

I never associated those aches with OT! It never donned on me that I never felt them before until OT. Same thing happens to me. I, for three years, have thought it was just my back problem acting up. Thanks for sharing that info.

You are in my prayers. From what I have read, OT rarely comes with pain. Alaska awaits you!!! Miracles happen!!!

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Sorry that you might have to join our "group". If you don't get OT as a diagnosis, get another opinion, and another. It could be that it isn't OT, but I'd get the other opinions if necessary. Many physicians haven't even heard of the condition. It's a miserable condition. Luckily, I don't h...

Re: How is everyone?

From a medical point of view (Nursing), "Pure Oxygen" can be dangerous. Google describes it: "Pure oxygen can be deadly. Our blood has evolved to capture the oxygen we breathe in and bind it safely to the transport molecule called hemoglobin. If you breathe air with a much higher than...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

It truly is an annoying condition. I have had it for three years. I suggest a "Rollator Walker" - a walker with four wheels, hand brakes, a seat, and a pocket under the seat. There are other accessories available to attach if more carry space is needed. I suggest this because the hand hold...

Re: dbest-product Trolly Dolly with Seat

I would not think this product would be good for OT. I suggest a "Rollator Walker" - a walker with four wheels, hand brakes, a seat, and a pocket under the seat. There are other accessories available to attach if more carry space is needed. I suggest this because the hand holds are better ...

Re: Sweating

Yes. It's awful and embarrassing. I think it's because of the extreme effort involved to stand up. I resolved that issue by using a Rollator - a walker with four wheels, a SEAT, and hand brakes. I use the seat OFTEN - especially if I have to wait in line. I really don't care what other people think....

Re: Good news,....for me and for some of you

So, did I miss something here? What was the new diagnosis? What can be done for it. I would get another, and another, and another opinion if necessary to ease my mind. Is that MD a specialist in OT???

Re: Muscle fatigue - muscle deterioration - exercising

I think your surmising about muscle atrophy is probably valid. All the years of climbing mountains (Whites in New Hampshire) and hiking to all the Appalachian Mountain Huts in those mountains, and all the years bike riding (sometimes 30 or so miles a trip) hasn't helped my at all. Fatigue, to me, is...
