Re: EMG readings

Hi, my neurosurgeon has done a couple of DBS surgeries on OT patients. I will ask him to pass on my email next appointment if any of them would be willing to contact me. I'd just be interested to know if anyone else on this site had readings below the norm for OT. I know it is possible to have slow ...

EMG readings

Hi everyone I was 'officially' diagnosed with OT by a neurologist a year ago. He didn't do an EMG at the time and diagnosed me only by watching me in a standing position. As I am about to be considered for DBS it was suggested that an EMG be done (along with other tests). The neurologist who perform...

Re: Balance problems

Thank you Gloria. Where would we turn to for help and advice if we didn't have this site? Really appreciate being able to ask for help and getting some peace of mind! And also making new friends with fellow OT'ers !

Balance problems

I was diagnosed with orthostatic tremor by an assessment with a neurologist. He did not do an EMG or MRI. Can this be an accurate diagnosis? Was anyone else diagnosed this way. I also have balance problems, e.g swaying to left or right when turning. Is this also a symptom of OT? I will be discussing...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Hi Gloria Thanks for your lovely welcome to the group. OT feels like such a lonely journey so it's great to have the support of so many others here. A bit about me .... I'm a 58 year old female living in the U.K. (raining at the moment wouldn't you know!) and was diagnosed in January as having OT al...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Hi everyone. New to this site!! Recently diagnosed with OT and prescribed clonazepam 0.5 daily. This is my fourth day of taking and I just wondered if anyone could give me an idea of how long it should be before I see an improvement (if any!). I've had symptoms for three years and am currently readi...
