Re: How is everyone?

Hello Everyone, I had both DBS surgeries in March. My health is improved as a result. The tremor in my right leg is greatly improved, and the tremor in my left leg is slightly improved. I'm wondering whether there is any wisdom about what to say during programming appointments that will help the pro...

Re: How is everyone?

Happy New Year!

I will have DBS surgery #1 on March 13 at Mayo. Surgery #2 on March 20. If you have connections with someone who has undergone DBS, please let me know. Otherwise, if you are a praying person, please add me to your list.

Gratefully,
Kelly

Re: How is everyone?

Hello Everyone, I struggle often, but I post very little. I'm the 39 year old Episcopal Priest who went to Mayo in Sept. I'm still waiting to hear whether or not they will consider my case for DBS. I received a quick diagnosis here in KY where I live, but medical care here doesn't seem to meet the s...

Re: How is everyone?

Hello Everyone, (especially Mike). I am very much not done with exploring options. My manifestation of OT means that I have significant barriers in my role as the primary breadwinner in my family. I am an Episcopal Priest. I sit during worship. I use a cane when on TV. I'm 39...with 6 years of sympt...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Thanks for the welcome, Gloria. I've had 3 docs suspect that there were two things going on at once, the SI injury and OT. I suspect (along with the DO, MD in OH, and my new MD in KY) that the SI injury wouldn't heal due to the instability caused by the tremor. Nobody has said that the yoga injury m...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

I am 39, and I was diagnosed with Orthostatic Tremor 16 months ago. I suspect that I've had the tremor for more than 5 years, but it took a while to figure out since it presented at the same time as a yoga injury that resulted in SI joint dysfunction. I have exhausted the list of medications that my...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Hello Everyone, I was diagnosed with OT a year ago. I live in KY. After trying Primidone, Clonazepam, and Topiramate, I went to a second neurologist. This neurologist also diagnosed me with OT. He put me on Nerontin, which caused serious side effects. I'm wondering if there is anyone who has tried a...
