Re: How is everyone?
Just heard from Dr at University of Florida who stated they hope to start trials in August on local patients with OT. If they are successful he will again contact me. My question is have any of my OT friends in Florida been contacted?

Re: How is everyone?
Last week I heard from the study on OT being conducted in Florida. Waiting for more information to be sent. One point they highlighted was that they hope to have OT participants who live close to Gainsville, Florida. Is anyone aware of anyone that has been selected for this study?

Re: Florida clinical trial
Here's a little update from me: When I first heard about the trial through this forum, I got on line and asked to be able to participate. Later I was asked to send in all medical records I had on this diagnosis, which I did, and that was last year. They acknowledged they had received this. I contact...

Re: Florida clinical trial
MaryAnn from Il here. The trials will be the middle of MAy or the end and will last 2 days. This per info I got last week from We Hu. They had requested my mailing address 2 weeks ago. No other information, which there was. I would like to find a cheap flight down to Florida.

Re: How is everyone?
Oh my, I hear that so much! A friend will come up to me and inform me, "you aren't shaking today". I may have been sitting down for a few minutes enjoying being "normal". It feels that I constantly have to explain this "disease". Then I have some dear friends who will r...

Re: Can shoes help our balance?
I prefer to wear Skecher brand (Go Walk) shoes; they seem to give me a better ability to "feel" the surface of the walkway than most other shoes and also they give me the ability to grip with my toes. I no longer can wear shoes with more than a 1/2 inch heel or shoes with a hard sole.

An update on the research at the University of Florida: received information this week that they just received the grant money and will start the research in December. Hopefully they will conduct the tests in the months of Jan-March when I will be in Florida. Mary Ann Troy, Illinois

Yes!!!!!! As long as my arms can hold me up....I would go again tomorrow. I have never felt so at ease. It was so great to be able to "hang on" for the hour. I can no longer stand unaided for more than about 30-45 seconds and this enabled me to be at the same height as all the other riders.

Re: How is everyone?
Just had to share my adventure of this past Sunday. I have always wanted to do a hot air balloon ride and was given one for my birthday in August. My son and daughters were concerned that I wouldn't be able to take the length of time standing. I wasn't sure myself!!! BUT, I was determined to do it. ...

TMS Study in Florida
Just Wondering! Have any of you been accepted in the study at the University of Florida? I have been requested to and have sent my medical records and medication list to them but have heard nothing back. No feed back from them yet on if I am accepted for the study or when it will be held. My family ...

MaryAnn from Illinois here; I love to garden and find I now need to sit on the ground and scoot around to tend to my flower beds. (But I'm not giving up!) Pruning of shrubs seems to be the hardest of my chores and you could find me hanging on to one branch with one hand and trimming with the other h...
