Richard, What you experienced sounds truly dreadful. I had a dear friend in high school who had some sort of inner ear disease or malfunction that pretty much destroyed her young life. As far as I know she never went to college or married. She suffered for years before she could find a doctor to rep...

Wow, I thought one couldn't "recover" from epilepsy! I'm a late bloomer, though--didn't have my first seizure until I was in my 40s--just like my mother...

This would lead me to believe, though, that the OT is not related. Who knows?

Candyse--

Do you routinely take medication for your epilepsy? If you do is tremor/shaking a possible side effect? Mine does. Seems you can't win!

How long did you have the epilepsy before the OT showed up--it was only about 5-6 years for me.

Thanks,
SBO

Other Conditions *AND* OT

Dear all, I've noticed that some of you have mentioned that you thought your OT was brought on by another condition--one I think mentioned diabetes--some mentioned surgery or perhaps a trauma of some sort. Are there many of you that can trace your OT to a particular time or circumstance like that? I...

Joy, I'm glad you posted! I was diagnosed just a few weeks ago myself, although I've suspected this for a few months now. My symptoms sound much like yours. The neurologists here have been good listeners--I've been blessed by that. They first suggested backing off the depakote I take for epilepsy, a...

Dear "Lake" Where is Kenora--I have a very good friend in Hamilton, outside of Toronto. It's a pretty small world! I am glad to hear that there are folks at the Mayo working on this, apparently the Cleveland Clinic is another good option for treatment. I am reserving those as options as I ...

Hello SBO: It sure is good news that you re getting some attention. Can you tell us more about where this clinic is? One question I would ask of the neurologist is how many OT patients does he/she have. Also how many OT patients does the clinic have. If the neurologist has several patients you migh...

at my last visit. The resident (I go to the Epilepsy Clinic at a large University Hospital), I saw last contacted me the other day about being a part of a presentation she will make in September. Hello, I am SBO and I live in south Texas. I've had leg tremors for several years now, but they have worsened over the last year and the last several months. They are unbelievably unpredictable and very frustrating as all of you well know. I have not been diagnosed, but from what you all have descri...
