Re: reply to Birgitte

I enjoyed reading about Birgitte's experience. I am currently trying to wean myself off Clonazepam and moving on to Gabapentin (while still taking Propranalol). I have not noticed any real improvement, but the side effects have been sore eyes, and a dull headache, especially when lying down, on the ...

Neurophysics

After a recent visit to the neurologist, I have changed my drug regime, and now take a 40mg beta-blocker 3 times a day starting early in the morning. My Clonazepam regime has changed to one with breakfast and one before bed. There has been some improvement at times, but I still find it difficult to ...

Re: How is everyone?

Well, some surprising findings came out of my visit to the neurologist. Firstly, he was surprised that I had been advised to take Clonazepam at night, when he thought it should have been in the morning. He is writing to my GP to look at a change to my medication, and at the moment, I am still Clonaz...

Re: How is everyone?

Thanks Gloria. Yes, my GP and I came up with the original diagnosis and he has been treating me ever since. Hopefully, the neurologist will come up with some solutions to slow down what appears to be getting worse.
Regards. Terry.

Update

I am about to visit a neurologist next Tuesday (for the first time). I have been on Clonazepam for a number of years, but recently my OT has been getting worse and I have had a number of severe episodes in public and at home. I have found that taking beta-blockers has helped a little, but it has got...

Re: How is everyone?

Wow! Many thanks for your post Moira. I am off to my GP on Friday to tell him things are not travelling very well for me at present and to see where we go from here. I am still able to play golf (came second today at Pelican Waters), but when trying to carry 2 drinks back from the bar, it took a few...

Re: How is everyone?

Thanks Gloria. After self-diagnosing, I went to my GP (a golfing buddy) and to his credit he did a fair amount of research and concurred, so I am currently on Clonazapam, and also on a beta-blocker after chatting to another golf buddy (pharmacist), who also did his homework. I am interested in your ...

Re: How is everyone?

I have had a couple of bad episodes in the last 3 weeks. The other day I was waiting in line at the Post Office, and I had to ask a lady to look after my place in the line while I sat down. When it was my turn, I got up and was berated by the PO woman who asked why I had a reasonably heavy parcel se...

Re: Medication

Only a very mild headache at this stage. Not sure if I am a tad dehydrated though.

Medication

I have been taking Clonazepan for my OT for a few years, but the tremors have been getting steadily worse, especially while standing still in queues etc. I was chatting to a friend at golf who is a pharmacist and he wondered why my Dr had not suggested beta-blockers. So, I have now been on Propranol...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Hi. My name is Terry and I am from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I self-diagnosed with OT about 5 years ago and was prescribed Clonazepam by my GP which initially helped my symptoms. However, lately, following total hip replacement surgery, my situation has been getting worse. Like ma...
