Re: How is everyone?

Thank you Eleanor. You are now a new role model for me. At age 73, I have known that I have OT for 19 years now. After hearing your story as well as others, I have determined to forgo any medication for this disorder as the tradeoff of benefit vs costs and side effects do not seem worth it to me. Re...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

It is good that with modern technology people are begining to see and hear their tremors. Since 1988 I've been trying to convince doctors that I hear a helicopter noise in my ears which is not tinnitus. Only in 2010 did Dr Bain agree the sound was of my muscles vibrating. What confuses me though is...

Is this the future for tremor treatments?

In one of the most exciting and thought provoking videos I have ever witnessed, this film (linked below for you to see) may be showing the members of this OT forum the operating room of the future, and what appears to have the potential to operate on and cure the portion of the brain which is the or...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hello! Rich, is your web tablet the same thing as an iPad? Betty Essentially the same concept, but better. :D Why is it better? Because its mine. Mine is made by Asus and runs on an Android operating system (software) instead of iOS, as the Apple iPad does. But seriously, they are both just w...

Re: Using a smartphone to measure your tremor

Hey Folks, Like several of you, I do not have a smartphone either. But guess what? I do have a web tablet. It has the Android operating system and a built in accelerometer. I downloaded the LiftPulse app (free) and installed it on the web tablet. Strapped the web tablet to my wife's leg (she does no...

Re: Minutes from OT Meeting and Research Oct 25-27

There are not enough positive words to describe Jeff. Most people know he does a lot for us - but he does a lot behind the scenes also that I have discovered that people would not be aware of. We are very lucky indeed to have him onboard!! I agree! Being a webmaster can be a hidden and thankless jo...

Re: CBC documentary on Orthostatic Tremor is online!

This was such a "kick" to listen to. Thanks to Erik for his interest and the interview. Why, even my country of residence got a mention and I never even got close to his interview microphone. Those who were interviewed were very articulate in explaining what the Lonely Disease is like for ...

Re: Suggested questions for the researchers

To Lanita (and other good folks who have contributed here as well), At this point with this disease, it is really enough that many of you have taken the time to share what is relevant in your own experience with OT. I thank you for your shared experiences and feelings. It is stangely comforting and ...

Re: Suggested questions for the researchers

Also, some where a question was raised as to how a blind person handles OT. I hope this aspect can be developed. Regards Dwight Kraai Hi Dwight, Yes, actually I did ask that question of the doctor during the last day's presentation and Q&A of the Omaha2012 OT Conference, along with my reference...

Suggested questions for the researchers

This part of the discussion thread was moved from "Reports from the front lines at the Omaha OT Conference" so that it would be easier to find and respond to by everyone. If you also have questions for the researchers, feel free to add them here. Rich As "golfnut" wrote: "I'...

Re: RAISING AWARENESS THROUGH NATIONAL RADIO BROADCAST

So at this point, is it now possible to obtain a link and listen to a recording of the broadcast?
If we were to put that link here, then we who are not in Canada could listen to it as well.
