Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Glad to have found this board and this doctor. he did say he has many Parkenson and MS patients and many of them belong to support boards. He said to be careful as those who are happy with their managment rarely participate, so boards often offer a skewed view of the illness mostly toward the pessim...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

There is a nerve that runs down your arm and by your elbow that controls sensation to the outside of each hand, the little finger and the edge and tip of the rings fingers in both hands. Just since Feb. I've had numbness and tingling and the feeling I was wearing long glove with tight bands. I also ...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

I had EMG testing on my legs, arms and hands. They used a combination of shocks and some nasty needle in the fleshy parts of my hands that drew blood. As I already have a dx of ET and POT, this was for peripheral neuropathy. The neurologist found a third dx for me of bilateral neuropathy effecting m...

Re: folding high stool for airplane travel

For air travel, a rolling carryon can also be used as a rolling seat. Joust get the kind that are free standing with the handle extended and you can easier sit on the end of the suitcase while waiting in line...I always did.

Re: OT and clonezapam-- any success?

I was switch from 1 mg xanax per day plus "as needed" to take before any stress events to clonazepam and didn't skip a beat stopping on and starting the other. I also take inderal for ET along with lithium for bipolar. As I've taken and responded well to lithium, I would never take any ant...

Re: Progression

I recall symptoms as far back as 1986. because I am also bipolar and take medications, my husband, doctor and I all assumed the tremors where side effects as they seemed to increase with stress, heat and exhaustion. After feeling like I was going to fall for years, I did fall, missing one step resul...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

I'll find out, but was told it would be like acupunture needle with a brief electoshock to get a reading. I've had acupunture and it only hurt if needle literally hit a nerve. I was also told to take my Klopopin that day which would have me into that med two weeks. I've read here lots of people bein...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

My EMG is for peripheral neuropathy in both arms below the elbows and legs below the knees, not the OT. I've been told EMG can pinpoint the problem causing the neuropathy. And yes stress, even happy excitment can cause problems...also heat.

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Thanks Gloria, Yes, I'm having an EMG on the 11th. I'm trying to absorb all the information here as there is so little information about OT generally. It seems lots of other people have a lot going on and every description of symptoms is personal. I distinctively recal having this since the mid 1980...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Thank you for the welcome! I live in western Illinois, almost Iowa 30 minutes from my widowed mom who still lives in Iowa. I was caring for her until she had a stroke 5 weeks before I feel. Luckily I got her in-home care then so now, when I understand more why I could not pick her up off the floor b...
