Re: Progression

Yes, Gloria. She also worked on migraines and indigestion. The migraines are MUCH better so much so that I can sometimes get by with just tylenol, I am taking zonisamide as a preventative as well, but this is still huge for me. I'm now down to only an average of about 7 migraines a month and rarely ...

Re: Progression

UPDATE: This is the place we have been talking about the progression of OT so I think it's also important to note that it is possible, at least it has happened in my case, for OT to get better! If you read just a few entries above this one you will see that I was using a wheelchair and walker. Now I...

Re: Cranial Sacral Occipital work; Major improvement!

So true, Gloria. That is the mystery of OT. I suspect the sacro-cranial work may be helping some secondary issues, but not getting to the actual root of the OT. Even so, I'll take any imporvemnt I can get. I'm not seeing as much dramatic improvement now, but I'm still holding the initial improvement...

Cranial Sacral Occipital work; Major improvement!

It's been a long time since I've written an update here. So for those who are new and for those who have forgotten I will give a brief history of my OT story. I noticed very early OT signs about 1997, but didn't think much of it until I found myself unable to stand while directing the choir about fo...

Re: Two Tremors?

Thanks for your reply, Gloria. My doctor is very clear that this is OT and not Parkinsons. She does not think OT is related to Parkinsons, and I agree. We are running down the list of meds. for me, and since clonapin is too strong for me, we're trying El Dopa now, but I'm not all that hopeful for th...

Re: Two Tremors?

I have now been to a movement specialist who has said that I do NOT have two tremors. What that doctor saw was simply me trying to keep my balance while I was standing. This is what I thought, but I was glad to have it confirmed by a movement specialist. She did help me try to increase my meds to a ...

Re: Two Tremors?

Thank you Patty. Yes, this is very helpful, and hopeful. I basically have zero standing time. I can get by with a little bit of leaning maybe a minute or two, but not much. I'm a complex case, interesting, but not typical enough to warrant researching. So, I don't really hold out a lot of hope for g...

Re: Two Tremors?

Thanks Patty. Do you mean that you are taking 900 mg total of Neurontin or 900 x 4 which would 3600 mg total? I'm currently taking 600 total and he wants me to work up to at least 900 total, then we'll see. How did it help you? Would you be willing to be a little more specific? Did it give you more ...

Two Tremors?

I just went to a new neurologist today, my previous one moved. He confirmed my OT diagnosis after asking me for a demo. :) I stood up from my wheelchair and instantly had my arms out flailing the air and doing a sort of hula dance and finally dissolving into tears in less than a minute of trying to ...

I'm in Portland, OR and would be interested in learning about this Doctor, his name, and how the process is going and more details.

Thanks.

Re: Kitchen Stools

Yes, I use a similar hydraulic lift stool. It came with plastic casters which didn't roll at all. So I had to get metal casters which cost about as much as the stool, but made it roll as I expected on my kitchen floor. All together I paid about $150.00. I ordered from Amazon: Boss Caresoft Medical S...

Re: OT poll - medication that HAS OFFERED SOME RELIEF

Update time. My migraine medication, Zonisamide is working well, so I've gone from 15-20 headaches a month to 2-5. Most of my headaches were actually rebound headaches from taking too much headache medicine, too often. Once I finally figured this out and found a way to get off, and now take medicine...

Re: OT poll - medication that HAS OFFERED SOME RELIEF

Good news for a change! As you may remember from previous posts, I also have had daily migraines as well as OT to the extent of using a wheelchair 100% outside of my home. Yesterday I walked almost a mile using a trekking pole and casually holding hands with my boyfriend! So, here's the catch up sto...

This study represents so much passion and dedication by all involved. I have also been eliminated from this trial, since I'm legally blind, there are just too many variables. So, I wish you all safe trips and warm connections. I hope the study reaches its intended goals. Thanks to everyone who is gi...

Re: Progression

Update: I haven't posted in awhile, to be honest I've been reeling a bit with migraines even more so than the OT issues. Today I'm ok so far, so here I am writing an update. :) I have moved to an apartment that promised to build ramps for my wheelchair. After I moved, they then said they couldn't bu...
