Re: How is everyone?

Hi Amy & Betty Interesting that you mention vitamin B6 overdose. I have also read about the effects that too much vitamin B can cause, one being tremor and shakiness. I used to take vitamin B6 as advised by a doctor for PMS symptoms and since reading the article about the negative effects, have ...

Re: REMINDER ABOUT DEADLINE FOR FEEDBACK FOR DR.RUSSOTTO

Hi Peggy and Betty I have just been having a little peruse on a search engine looking for info on OT and found an article that mentions people with OT having Dopaminergic dysfunction. I think this means they may have a low level of dopamine in their system. When reading up on this I saw that people ...

Re: How is everyone?

Hi Lorie M I was interested by your quetion re neuropathy of the feet. I have noticed that after standing for a while, where I am unable to move around very easily, I get very numb feet. I had never linked this to OT before but since you have asked this question I must say that yes I do! Also i have...

Re: Calf muscle strain

Hi Blossom Thanks for your message Thankfully I am on the mend although I have some very impressive bruises to show for it! Have noticed the lower back, shin and calf pain after standing which I feel increases the tremor considerably. Noticed this today as I was trying to carry a tray containing 2 h...

Re: Calf muscle strain

Hi Chris thanks for your message. Interesting to know that it seems to be a side effect of the OT condition I've only really noticed it over the last 6 months or so. Would probably be a good idea to do a warm up as if I about to do a run when I know I may have to stand for a while.
All the best

Calf muscle strain

Hi all Hope you are all doing well. I was just wondering if anyone has noticed pain or strain particularly in their calf muscles. I have recently noticed that my calf muscles feel very tight and yesterday I had a nasty accident where I slipped whilst walking up the stairs. I heard a very loud crack ...

Re: Question

Hi Lorie
Thanks for your response. I do feel that skiiing would be rather difficult as my body would probably feel like it is still standing even though I would be moving on the skis.
Probably best to give it a miss.

Re: Question

Hi Richard
Sorry to hear that you broke your leg on your last skiing trip
Has anyone else been skiing since being diagnosed with OT? How did you find it?

Question

Hello all Just wanted to ask if any of you have been skiing with your orthostatic tremor? If you have how did it affect you? Were you able to balance or was it a very painful experience? Thinking of maybe going at some point in the future and would appreciate your feedback. I suspect it could be tri...

Re: Thank you for the diagnosis

Welcome Joan you found us!! I am so happy that you have found your diagnosis. All this leaning is annoying and I find I have to be careful with my outfits (such as a light coat) as I need to lean on a lamp post when waiting for my train on a daily basis. I know what you mean about not being able to ...

Re: Newbie

Hi Michael Welcome! I know what you mean about buffets I don't like them much either. Always feel I look as if I'm barging other people out of the way, when all I'm trying to do is a balancing act with a paper plate and a cup! Much better to shout your orders out to friends or family who unde...

hand tremors

Hi Lynda (and all the calorie burning shakers out there!) I also get hand tremors and when I am serving people drinks they often end up wearing half of it  Shaking is bad in both hands when standing but feels worse in the left. My family are beginning to cotton on and have to be alert and read...

Hi Gloria I have tried to hint to people to look at the forum, my family have been really supportive and my mum is keen to join the forum to add her thoughts/comments. When I saw the neurologist for my yearly checkup in September (I am under Dr Brittons team, I notice he has written some literature ...

Hi Betty I also get horrible cramps in my shins and feet and feel as if my hips and tops of my legs have been set in cement when standing. Its especially worse if I am about to step onto a train or in a lift when I cannot lean. This is a daily occurence for me as I commute to work every morning and ...

Is shaking worse on one side?

Dear all I trust you have had an enjoyable christmas. Hope it hasn't been too tiring for you  Just wondering if any of you have found that your shaking feels more pronounced on one side of your body. Mine feels worse on my right side and doctors have noticed that my right leg seems to have a ...
