Re: Florida clinical trial

When they first published that they had been given the grant, I contact the Univ. of FL by email and told them I would like to be considered for the study. About a week later, I received a call back from a doctor working with Dr. Shukla and he assured me that I would be included in the study, but th...

Re: ORTHOSTATIC HYPERTENSION

Thanks for the info on Valerian Root. I will definitely give it a shot.....if it doesn't interfere with Coumadin, that is.

ORTHOSTATIC HYPERTENSION

First of all, I want to say how sorry I was not to be able to attend the Houston meeting. I had planned to until over this winter, I started having extreme fluctuations in blood pressure. At one point, I went to the hospital because it was 94/60 , with a heart rate of 52, and I was having palpitatio...

Re: Omaha research to be discussed at the MDS 2015 conferenc

I'm anxiously awaiting the results of the EEG's. The fact that they're reporting on them leads me to believe that they found something. If so, that would be exciting!! Here's hoping!! In any event it's positive to see that OT is a topic of discussion! :)

Re: Reports from the Omaha Meeting and Research 2014

Well, here I am, 'old better late than never' adding my thoughts on Dr. Torres study on OT. I am truly grateful for Dr. Torres and his staff's interest and dedication to OT because this meeting provided a lot of firsts for me. Most importantly, was that after over at least 25 yrs. of visiting numero...

SPINAL STIMULATION

I have read there is a question on whether the spine could be the generator of OT. After years of enduring extreme back pain, I had a new MRI done for the first time in over 10 yrs., and was referred to a Brain/Spinal Center. When I went, I went armed with info on OT and an article about using spina...

Re: Baclofen

I have no experience with Baclofen, but I do with Neurontin. It bothered my cognitive function tremendously and I was unable to tolerate it. I also would say the wrong word at times, couldn't think straight, and after driving off with a car door open, and hitting someone's bumper in a parking lot, I...

Re: What is you day like?

Hi Kate, I'm right there in the same boat with you! After 13+ years of OT, my tremors have progressed throughout my body, and I find it very difficult to do anything. I do have other health problems, including a lot of arthritis, which causes a lot of pain if I do any walking, so I find myself spend...

HAS ANYONE IN THE NORTHEAST FOUND A GOOD DOCTOR?

I have just recently joined this forum, after suffering from undiagnosed OT since probably the mid 90's. In the beginning, I had problems standing and would get foot and leg pain, and saw several neurologists and podiatrists. Finally, after seeing numerous doctors, one of them said, 'no wonder your ...

Re: New to the forum? post a quick introduction

Thanks for replying Janet. My biggest problem, other than numerous physical ones is that I watched my mother die inch by inch due to what was diagnosed as ET, but she also had severe balance problems, and at 75. she started falling and broke bone after bone, including ribs (and partially collapsing ...

NEW MEMBER INTRO

Hi Everyone, I'm Wendy, 60 years old and from NH. Not only do I have OT (for well over 10 years) and ET, but also numerous other health problems. I just wrote up a long intro detailing them, and it took me so long to type that I was logged off for inactivity. Everything I do is slow, so I'm not atte...
